The cutting-edge Canadian distribution company owned and operated by veteran PGA of Canada member Ryan Sommerfeld is the new title sponsor for the PGA of Ontario Senior Pro / Junior Pro Championship.

“We are excited to have Shinebox Lifestyles Brands as the newest partner of the PGA of Ontario,” says Kevin Purcell, Executive Director of the PGA of Ontario. “It’s gratifying to see a member of the PGA of Canada partnering and supporting our association and we look forward to working with Ryan and Shinebox moving forward.”

The PGA of Ontario Senior Pro / Junior Pro Championship returns to Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club in Gormley for the third consecutive year on Monday, July 22 with 40 two-man teams slated to tee it up.

“I’m looking forward to being at the event and connecting with the golf professionals from the various private and public facilities across Ontario,” says Sommerfeld. “As a member of the PGA of Canada I want to be able to support the association that I have belonged to for more than a decade and the partnership with the PGA of Ontario will do just that.”

Sommerfeld founded Shinebox Lifestyle Brands in 2010 with a vision of providing tour proven brands to golf shops and country clubs across Canada. He started distributing Ian Poulter Design apparel and has since added some great brands including; Druh Belts & Buckles, Legendary Headwear, Club Glove travel bags and AM&E American-made head covers and accessories.

“From fashion to accessories, we provide industry leading brands to fit the needs for every level of golfer,” he says. “Our goal is to bring the products that the best players in the world are using, to golfers everywhere.”

Sommerfeld started as an assistant professional at Niakwa Country Club in Winnipeg in 2001 and moved on to St. Charles Country Club and then Shaughnessy G&CC in Vancouver. He earned his PGA of Canada Class A designation in 2006 and went on to work for Titleist as a sales rep in Western Canada and Southwestern Ontario for four years before going into business for himself in 2010.

Sommerfeld is pleased to announce that Howie Wark is the new Ontario sales rep for all things Shinebox except for Ian Poulter Design.
